In Conwy's Children's Services the operational teams, specialists and senior management team are all based on one site in Colwyn Bay which greatly assists staff with communication, planning, emergency interventions and problem solving.
The Fieldwork Team provide services to children looked after, children in need of protection and longer term family support. We have an extensive range of in house support services to help us do this. This includes a Family Intervention Team with therapeutic workers and education and health specialists.
We are looking for social workers who are experienced in working with children and families to join our Assessment and Support Team.
We offer regular supervision and performance development reviews as well as varied training opportunities including access to the CPEL awards. Team members have a range of experiences and peer support is actively encouraged.A Social work degree, CQSW or DIPSW and previous experience in child care with a sound knowledge of relevant legislation is essential.
As Conwy has large rural areas the ability to drive and use of a car is required, or the ability to travel within the area to attend appointments.
