We are looking for someone who can communicate well with customers, colleagues and other professionals and who can act as an advocate / representative on behalf of clients.
The post holder will work with people affected by a diagnosis of cancer, their carers and families and support them to access their entitlement to welfare benefits.
The service will be delivered from advice clinics at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. The ability to work in partnership with health care and other professionals is essential. The key duties of the post will be to raise awareness of the benefits available, maximise income and track the progress of benefit claims through to conclusion, including preparing submissions and representing at appeal tribunals where necessary.
Recent benefit casework experience and knowledge of welfare benefits/ the criteria for claiming is essential.
As the post involves direct contact with the public, the ability to communicate in English is essential and Welsh is desirable.
Conwy is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable groups, the successful candidate will be vetted and require a DBS check.
