We are looking for someone who can communicate well with customers, colleagues and other agencies.
Applicants should possess excellent customer service skills, competency in using a computer and the ability to work in a busy environment.
The key duties of the post include reviewing claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction, including requesting further information and evidence, reassessing benefit claims, (which may result in underpayments and overpayments of benefit) and ensuring that the 'right benefit' is paid.
The role is mainly office based but you may occasionally be required to visit customers at home to review their benefit claim.
As the post involves direct contact with the public, the ability to converse in Welsh is desirable and the ability to speak English is essential.
Knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction legislation is desirable.
