In Conwy's Children's Services the Fieldwork teams, specialists and senior management team are all based on one site in Colwyn Bay which greatly assists staff with communication, planning, emergency interventions and problem solving.
The Permanency Team provide a service to children Looked After Children placed at home or in the Care of the Local authority within foster care or residential settings. We are very keen to recruit a dedicated and motivated Social Worker that is enthusiastic about delivering excellent Social work practice to children and young people in care. The core role will be to ensure that children looked after by Conwy grow up safe, happy and are supported to fulfil their potential. As such your role will be to build a close relationship with the children on your case load. All Looked after children also have access to a LAC coordinator in the field of Education and Health so you will work closely and collaboratively with these professionals.
Within Conwy we have a strong emphasis on ensuring the best possible outcomes for our Looked After Children - just like we would for our own children. We require a dynamic social worker with experience in working with children under long term permanency arrangements. We offer regular supervision with reflective practice and performance development reviews as well as varied training opportunities including access to the PQ awards. Team members have a range of experience and peer support is actively encouraged.
