We are recruiting to the Placement and Commissioning officer role on a temporary basis.
The Placement and Commissioning officer is based in the Fostering Service in Conwy. Referrals are received from social workers within the child care teams whom require placements for Looked After Children. You will need to match the child/ young people’s needs with a high quality placement that is able to provide the best care and achieve the best outcome for that child or young person.
The role will involve making a range of placements under the supervision of the Team manager for Fostering. The range of placements will include in-house Fostering placements, Independent Fostering Agencies, Residential placements, specific placement needs such as Parent & Child, Children with Disabilities, Secure & Remand placements. You will need to liaise, negotiate and communicate with all concerned regarding commissioning a placement.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with the CCSR and Commissioning Hub. With the ability to work in a proactive manner, ensuring sensitivity and confidentiality.
The post holder will be flexible and work towards the continuing improvement of service delivery and the performance of the team. You will be offered professional supervision and guidance, together with the offer of further training and development opportunities via the workforce and training strategy provided by Conwy.
