Work base: Conwy Primary schools
The English as an Additional Language Service operates a cross-authority service working peripatetically in Conwy and Denbighshire schools. This post is to support primary schools in Conwy with minority ethnic pupils learning English as an additional language (EAL). The post can involve working with EAL learners in Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2.
Work involves working in an advisory capacity with school staff as well as some direct support for EAL learners. Contributing to collaborative work within the EAL Service team is also an important element of the work.
The successful candidate must have Qualified Teacher Status. A tertiary qualification in English or further qualifications in EAL/TEFL would be desirable.
The postholder will also be required to travel between schools and meetings, etc. Therefore it is essential that the postholder is willing and able to travel throughout the County.
Due to the nature of the post the successful candidate will be subject to a disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service. It is a requirement that successful candidate will need to register with the Education Workforce Council prior to commencing employment
